DAILY SAFARIS / Night Drives

A normal day on tour will look something like this.

Early morning start until breakfast, looking for the big cats, where they were seen in previous days and where our guide thinks they will pop up.  For breakfast time, we usually stop at a different camp or picnic spot with a restaurant and a shop to cater for your needs.

After breakfast, we continue until midday and take a break back at camp
for lunch and a siesta, as in the middle of the day, nothing really happens in the bush.

After the midday break, we continue again in the afternoon until the gates close normally around sunset.

If you want to go on a night drive from 20:00 to 22:00, you can book this with the Kruger Park on arrival. This will not be done by us but by the Kruger Park themself on a 20-seater vehicle, but a nice experience nevertheless.

The Freedom of the Wild:
Why Now is the Best Time
for a Solo Kruger Safari

Going solo isn't just about travelling alone; it’s about the absolute freedom to follow your own instincts. At Private Kruger Safaris, we believe the African bush is the ultimate backdrop for self-discovery. Whether you’re looking to sharpen your photography skills or simply find a moment of peace in the vastness of the Kruger, a solo journey offers an unparalleled connection to nature.

Why Book Your Solo Safari Today?

  • Your Schedule, Your Pace: When you travel with us, you aren’t beholden to a group’s itinerary. Want to spend an extra hour watching a leopard in a tree? Or perhaps you'd prefer an early return to your lodge for a sundowner? Since our drives are private, the day is entirely yours.

  • Deepen Your Connection: Without the distraction of a group, your senses sharpen. You’ll hear the subtle warning calls of birds and notice tracks in the dust that others might miss. Our expert guides become your personal trackers and storytellers, sharing insights tailored specifically to your interests.

Seamless Logistics: We Meet You Where You Are

We know that safety and ease are top priorities for solo travellers. To ensure a stress-free start to your adventure, we offer dedicated collection and drop-off services exclusively from these three hubs:

  • Hazyview Town: Door-to-door collection from any lodge or residence or at Perrys Bridge Trading Post

  • Skukuza Airport (SZK): Land in the heart of the park and step directly onto your private safari vehicle.

  • KMI Airport (Nelspruit): A convenient gateway for those flying into the region from Johannesburg or Cape Town.

Essential Packing List for the Solo Explorer

  • The "Must-Haves": High-quality binoculars and a camera with extra memory cards.

  • Smart Clothing: Neutral-toned, lightweight layers. Even in summer, those early morning drives can be chilly!

  • Personal Essentials: Sunscreen, insect repellent, and comfortable shoes. If you like to go on a bush walk with the Kruger Park rangers, then come prepared.

  • Peace of Mind: Ensure your travel insurance is up to date and you have a digital copy of your identification easily accessible.
